COMMENT: It’s the most exciting time of the year (shopping wise), where the stores start to load up on all of the spring/summer drops. The tones on the rack start to shift from darks to brights (which immediately shifts my mood!). The trends I spotted earlier this year on the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Sydney runways, are starting to trickle through to the retail space, and as always, David Jones is leading the way when it comes to fashion. This spring/summer is all about denim- all shades of blues, whites and blacks. Aje’s knitted jumpers are a season round staple as they’re light enough to layer, and they now come in a bunch of shades. The humble cami is making it’s return this season (I usually invest in a few to get me through the warmer months- and they’re always perfect for my next Bali trip). I’ve been layering Bec & Bridge mini dresses with plain t-shirts for a few summers now and I’m still as obsessed as ever (this is perfect for covering up a few of my zillion freckles!).

There’s a whole lot of construction brewing around David Jones Karrinyup (and don’t get me started on the logistics of the entire Karrinyup Redevelopment- it’s actually blowing my mind!)- but somehow you don’t even realise it’s around you when you’re in store. I can only assume that they’re compensating for the construction by ensuring that the fashion department is even more loaded than normal. And I ain’t complaining!
