COMMENT: I rolled up to the Westin Perth with a huge amount more luggage than most others would typically require for one night away. Especially considering I don’t like to leave the premises for the duration of my stay (I Uber Eats my dinner, have breakfast at Garum, sit poolside for hours on end…). That’s how much I love it here.

I’m assuming ‘typical people’- and by ‘typical’ I’m referring to those who don’t have two small humans and a highly-anxious rescue dog at home- come here to visit Perth. You know, visit a bar, perhaps go out and eat dinner. Yeh, not us. I want to lock myself away from civilisation and catch a tan (and I did- even though it was 16 degrees- that pool area is seriously well designed and you’re protected from the wind).

Those 24 (kid-free/dog-free) hours were a deluxe version of heaven. No hyped, anxious dog lying between us shaking all night long. No toddler tantrums. Just that white-tea signature scent, fresh custard filled cannolis from Garum, and a few luxury dresses that were captured poolside. Because, you might be wearing a statement dress to head out on the town, but I’ll be in a white fluffy robe, watching The Holiday. Seriously, how thoughtful of Channel 7 to feature such a cosy Christmas movie on a Friday night, in September. I told you- heaven.
